PDP voids Orbih’s suspension

The National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has declared the purported suspension of its national Vice Chairman ( South-South),Chief Dan Orbih by the Edo state chapter of the party, null and void.

The NWC in a statement by the party’s spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan said though the issues raised by the state chapter have been noted, it however charged the chapter to be guided by “the provisions of the constitution of our great party, with regard to imposition of sanctions on party officers at any level stressing that the rules are clear and must be adhered to.”

The statement read: “The purported suspension of the National Vice Chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Orbih, a member of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of our party, by the Edo North Senatorial leadership of the party, is statutorily beyond its powers, and to that effect a nullity.

Emergency rule: Anambra monarch warn Malami not to meddle in state’s business

Anambra State traditional rulers have berated the Attorney General of the federation, Abubakar Malami for meddling in Anambra affairs.

The monarchs berated Malami for mooting the idea of a state of emergency in Anambra State.

In a statement after their meeting, the monarchs said Anambra State remains one of the most peaceful states in the country.

Malami had on Wednesday said the Federal Government might impose a state of emergency in Anambra State to have the desired peace to conduct the November 6 poll in the state.

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Garus Gololo, has advised President Muhammad Buhari not to be distracted in his quest to get rid of some cabinet members of his administration, with the view to repositioning his government.

Gololo, while reacting to a publication credited to an online newspaper on Friday, said it would do the President a whole lot of good, if he sacks Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, and other Ministers whom he said have not lived up to expectations.

Sahara Reporters had on Thursday, in an exclusive report, stated that President Buhari had perfected arrangements to relief Mr. Malami and 15 other Ministers in his cabinet, before December 2021.

2023: Zoning president, VP tickets may destroy PDP – BoT Chairman, Jibrin warns

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, BoT, has said the zoning of the party’s presidential ticket may destroy the party.

Walid Jibrin, the Chairman of PDP BoT, said party leaders should be cautious in handling the zoning of the party’s presidential ticket and other elective offices.

He disclosed this while addressing journalists at PDP’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

Jibrin said PDP BoT was ready to assist the party’s leadership in ensuring peace ahead of the elective convention.
